WINEMAKING

Not only is this wine made from organic fruit but it has no sulfites added, thereby qualifying for fully organic USDA certification. It is vinified from 100% estate-grown fruit grown at a cool 4,000 feet in the foothills of the Andes. This purest expression of the local terroit, a mix of sand/gravel soils benefits from brilliant sunlight and 50 degree F temperature swings between day and night, leading to super-flavorful, fresh-tasting grapes.

Deep plum color with some inkiness. Good extraction. Heady nose with strawberry preserves, berries, licorice/anise. First sip is warm cherry tart, blackberry, spice notes. Mellow, balanced, persistent tannins. Long finish with fruits, especially cherry, and black pepper. Some very light wood notes like toast and caramel.
