WINEMAKING
The La Bousquette vineyards have been free of pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers since 1972, thereby allowing the fullest expression of our grapes and terroir.
The vineyards of Château Bousquette, a 50 acre family estate, drape over the craggy hillsides of a small town called Cessenon, only 30 miles inland from the Mediterranean in the South of France. "Bousquette" in French means thicket or grove. The word aptly describes the property: a simple family estate nestled in pine trees, lavender and thyme, overlooking miles of vineyards stretching all the way to the foot of the volcanic mountains, the Cévennes. The vineyards are moderated by the cooling breezes from the sea, giving the grapes a long, even growing season.
This is a perfectly proportioned wine that takes an appellation (St. Chinian) to its full potential. Oak aged 1 year.
