Guy Chaumont

-- Guy Chaumont produces wines from vineyards on the Côte Chalonnaise, a low ridge in the southern part of France’s famous Burgundy region. Côte Chalonnaise now merits its own appellation to distinguish these wines from other Burgundys. The Chaumont eight acre estate is quite small, like many local vineyards. Guy took over seventeen years ago from his father, who had converted to organic growing ten years earlier out of concern for the family’s health. Their vineyard is certified organic by Ecocert, one of the official certifying agencies. Grapes are fertilized and protected from pests naturally, without synthetic chemical sprays. This wine is a classic white burgundy with rich, buttery apple and melon fruit and a long smooth finish. Aged in old and new oak.AOC Bourgogne100% Chardonnay!Alcohol Content: 12% AGING POTENTIAL : 3 to 5 years

Muscadet sur lie
Guy Bossard
-- $15.99
-- Guy Bossard is another of those winegrowers who converted to certified organic methods for health reasons, after his father became very ill from agro-chemicals. Certified since 1975, he now produces one of the best ranges of wines in the Muscadet region, organic or otherwise, from just a little over 50 acres. Grapes are always hand picked and shire horses are used to plough the oldest plots.Excellent Muscadet from one of the top producers in the region. A light, very dry wine with a slight spritz. Good intense fruit flavors from fermenting “on lees.” Its tart citrus-like acidity refreshes and pleases the palate.
