Since 1963 the vineyard has practiced organic farming, following the strict methods and rules defined by the BIOFRANC organic association. Thus, all of their vines are cultivated without chemical fertilizers, weed-killers, insecticides or artificial fungicides. Only organic compost of animal or vegetable origin, and natural insoluble minerals, are added to the land. Why such a choice? Patrick and Maryse Boudon, a couple with a combined total of 70 years’ winegrowing experience, explain: “We believe that wine can only be as good as the grape from which it is made, and the quality of the grape depends solely upon the husbandry devoted to it and the soil from which it stems.
