2010 Saint Chinian Prestige Chateau Bousquette
Chateau Bousquette Prestige - a blend of 75% Syrah and 25% Grenache

From Languedoc in the South of France, this award winning wine boasts a brilliant dark garnet color, with elements of rose, cherry, and toasted wheat. Sinuously strong. It is aged in oak for one year. This wine will complement any elegant table whether serving roasted meats or hearty vegetarian fare.
The La Bousquette vineyards have been free of pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers since 1972, thereby allowing the fullest expression of our grapes and terroir.

Pairing: In France this is often paired with duck. It also makes a terrifc accompaniment to this vegan Marinera Sauce (recipe courtesy of Dr.Weil)

The vineyards of Château Bousquette, a 50 acre family estate, drape over the craggy hillsides of a small town called Cessenon, only 30 miles inland from the Mediterranean in the South of France. "Bousquette" (pronounced boo-sket) in French means thicket or grove. The word aptly describes the property: a simple family estate nestled in pine trees, lavender and thyme, overlooking miles of vineyards stretching all the way to the foot of the volcanic mountains, the Cévennes. The vineyards are moderated by the cooling breezes from the sea, giving the grapes a long, even growing season.

This delicious creation merits a spotlight. It's a perfectly proportioned wine that takes an appellation (St. Chinian) to its full potential. Oak aged 1 year. Brilliant garnet color, deep blackberry aroma. Loaded with black cherry & cassis-like fruit. Round & harmonious, it is utterly satisfying from start to finish. Drink now or age up to 10 yrs.

A.O.C. Saint-Chinian; 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 5% Carignan, 5% Mourvedre.

Alcohol Content: 14%

AGING POTENTIAL : 6 to 10 years

There is something about this wine that just makes it the perfect complement to a nice lamb stew on a cold winter night. Rich and full bodied, the finish lingers on the tongue. A wonderful wine to share with friends.

This is my all-time favorite wine! Wonderful flavors, but not too heavy. Some members of my family feel the same and ask for it when they come to visit.
